I'm back..
yeah i'm really back..
don know which place i really prefer
it's nice here in singapore, with all my friends, and all the nice food around.
comfort bed, and having so much readily available to me here.

but i like the freedom and independence there too
the need to make your own decision
be it finding guesthouses, planning transportations, looking for tours, going round places on taxis and buses, the need to plan budget to spread across the days, those were things that made me learnt so much as an adult there
it was not easy, and thinking about logistics, finance, planning everyday gave me a headache sometimes
the heaviest one came when planning from vientiane (Laos) to ho chi minh (Vietnam. not wanting to take the long bus (another 20 hrs?) from vientiane to seam reap, no direct buses to bring us to ho chi minh, no cheap flights from laos to hcmc (at least USD 190/pax), options were running out so low, until we figured out a flight on jetstar from laos to bk (50usd). i guess that was the most important part of the journey.

otherwise.. mm to list down the places we were.

Hanoi -> Sapa (My favourite *1000) -> Halong Bay
Vientiane -> Vang Vieng
Bangkok
Ho Chi Minh -> Nha Trang

Really enjoyed this trip alot.=)
Back to Singapore le..
So much things to worry and to take responsibility on..
life goes on~

i got a craving for steamboats nowadays?
crave for every seafood, every piece of meat, and every kind of vegetables

especially the clams.. prawns.. fishball.. chicken~
wanna try all kind of steamboats

heard there is one at clementi where they have bbq for crayfish.. can't believe it~ must try one time..
and another one that is advertised on tv.. the one at quee lan road.. also a must try.. read nice reviews about it.
then finally the one at turf city.. with additional payment for beer buffet. must go there one day.. one day.. although i dono when..

the past week has been a happy one.. went around to bai nian.. ate.. chit-chat.. played.. watched shows.. gambled.. soccerEd.. should be feeling quite blissful =)

on a side note. the wedding game sucks.. don't watch it! haha.. but watch 'xin fu wang shui'. i bet i must have been one of the loudest luffer in the theatre just now.. haha i dono why but i just enjoy henry thia's shows.. he nv fails to make me luff.. he's just damn comical by nature.. just seeing him makes me wanna luff.. hahahaha i tink he should be nominated as one of the best local movie actor this yr.. i'm so glad he's the main character in this movie just now. =)

time flies.. certain memories will never disappear.. but maybe life should move on with time..

maybe the song is truly fitting for all of us.

Honestly, I should be very happy with what I've got, and who I've got.
I've got people who are so nice to me, some exceptionally nice to me.
I've got people who I can look for anytime, and whom I know have total trust in me.
I've got people who I considered true brothers, who we can always be there for one another.
I've got so much.
Today was just a wonderful day, or rather a wonderful evening.
Thanks for the dinner and the movie, it was really great seeing you, even though we only meet once every few months.

Yet I always get myself into trouble with certain matters. Not that I do not consider these matters important, and they certainly matter alot and moulded my life, and I think or I hope I've learnt alot from all these occurences.

Life is a curve, but a forward looking one, and we can never turn it back no matter how hard we try, so we all gotta look forward and be optimistic, optimistic that god has a plan for us. But in the meantime, we also gotta work hard, to make sure that every decision, every word, every action we do, count, and that we will not regret on them. No matter how hard it is, we gotta try hard, and that will be enough.

There have been people whom I've taken up to kill my loneliness, and sometimes I really do not understand why, because there are indeed quite a few people who I got total trust in, and these people know who they are, but yet I always sink myself into it, hurting people, hurting the innocent.

Maybe a new year, 2009, will prove to be a better one for me, because over the past decade, alot has indeed happened to me, and many people have left their footprints on me, just as I had on them. Do the right thing, and do things you will never regret.

anyway fun day out

went RDA with mei in the morning to look after young kids.. n i was assigned this Phoebe who is seriously damn cute. She has some muscular disability and therefore had problem supporting her back, but otherwise, she was brave and tried really hard.

Then we met KL and YM to help out in some WR lantern building thingy.. aka for charity. I really enjoyed it because I felt peace, and a comfort in being surrounded by such close friends.. furthermore, it is gonna be a hideout for this month, whenever I want to find a place to go to. I am so gladful for this, thanks TY.

Looking forward to tomorrow.. Think it is gonna be really tiring but fun!

Some random things..

The happy times from the past few days have settled in.. its back to normal =)

Been reading the papers there every morning..

Wondering what is happening to wall street, and whether IB will cripple permanently from these happenings.

Its probably a classic example of how fragile the world is. All it takes it for one to let go, and the rest will follow, showing us the world is intertwined, and no one can live without each other, and more directly, without the trust of one another.

Trust is the one most important word in life, in my life. Its hard to build trust, but we should all open ourselves and trust one another, otherwise we'll fall like all the firms with hundred of years of history.

Its saddening to see legacies fall, some with over a century or history. Bail-out is a short term medicine, will it bring back investor's confidence? Will economy still moves as it was like before? "There is no future in investment banking anymore", coming from a top Goldman Sach officer.

It takes 2 to gel, and many banks to work together to get thru this crisis. =)

have decided to stop asking myself.. whether i have a life.. or whether my life is more boring den others

my life is like this.. the way it is.. and to tink of it.. i should be pretty satisfied with it

i have many kids.. n each of them mean a certain amount to me..coz i spent a rather big portion of my time every week on each of them. =) and i hope they will all grow up to be successful and to learn how to help others

going out to play is not in my upbringing.. i don play alot.. wonder maybe its because of my lack of friends..
many people say i have many friends.. n i always say i don have alot of real friends.. and then pple say there are many pple who i don open up to.
nowadays i'm opening up alot of myself.. n i do find myself happier.. and more comfortable. =)

i must be happy with my life now ba.. it has a fair share of noeing and interacting with people (which is rily my favourite.. many pple say i'm a social animal), and a fare share of helping others (i got so many tuition kids to care for!)

wat can i say about this yr..this sem..

mm.. everything's going really well this sem..
met lotsa new pple. new project mates.. new students.. n realised wat really motivates me.. so i don rily feel that life is meaningless anymore

mm.. my 325 financial modelling teammates are really nice.. other than the old dragon.. i'm doing it with 2 other pple as well.. n getting along rily well w this person alps.. wat a weird name.. but a very-easy to tok to person.. haha.. maybe i express out things easily to 'stranger'.. but i tink its gonna be fun.. though the module and the project seems hard.. no idea how to start.. no idea when to start..hahaha

306.. same bunch of friends.. suyi wl n ll.. plus 2 other sy's friends
quite fun pple.. although 306 suck the living hell out of us every lesson.. but.. its the storm before the calm..

coz after that is the super-slack 304.. though i can't really fathom why we r learning such craps again.. like so theoreotical stuffs.. but this teacher is better den most other.. coz he makes the lesson interesting.. n my grp luffs at every single thing.. i tink we spend more time luffing den any others.. n we suey suey got 2 pple less den any other grp.. n present earlier den other grps.. peng~..

mm.. n i'm having 8-9 kids this sem.. alot of them taking final exams this yr le..
i used to tink that tuition is a way of livelihood... but i've grown to like and care for them.. after so many years.. i've finally learnt the true purpose of teaching.. to help them when they need help.. so that they can progress on their life smoothly..

n i also learnt to just be.. myself.. n not being too concerned with others' view..
im surprised alps managed to figure out i have low confidence.. despite msning for the first time.. i guess its true to a certain aspect in that i was too concerned with other's impressions last time.. but i heard of pple who go crazy n just being themselves.. i tink i shld learnt to be like that.. i like to make joke at every single thing..n to luff all the way..maybe i shldn't be concerned with other's view.. even if they mite tink i'm dumb initially.. if they noe me well enuff in the end.. my character shld shine thru to them de ba..
otherwise.. i keep being so wary and self-conscious whenever i meet new pple.. i'll nv learn to be satisfied.

the module i bugged CT to take for a mth or so..

n i happily tink there is no seminar..
n i happily went swimming w jonathan

Glad everything ended on a really good note..today went perfectly well.. other than my flu which threatened to kill me.. n caused some nonsensical emails..haha

All tasks were completed.. except one for Jennifer n Atul (so sorry!).. farewell to GtS. hope to see you guys soon.

Hilariously fun day..

Morning.. I had my fav activity.. lying on the bed n pretending to be dead.. all the way until 10am++.. so shiork! Ever since I started work, I had not been able to sleep till this late often.. even on most wkends.. when I either had to go out or give tuition. But today was different.. somehow my morning was free coz all my tuitions got postponed to tmr.

Afternoon.. Went to meet my xiaomeiz~ to get something.. n we had this 14 pieces of wantons for lunch..haha can't remember how much we ate.. but she probably ate 13 while i ate 1.. such a nice bro i am =)

Den we went to meet yimei.. n i tried shocking her by shouting her name at the control station.. she was happy to see me.. i noe she was =).. n the moment they left..some idiot called me.. saying i won $1k for being a good subscriber of Newpaper.. so like real! i haven been buying for a very long time n since when did i write down my name as the buyer.. haha bullshit.. n i tot it was some scam.. coz recently the news keep showing such scams.. but the person say totally no string attached.. so i just entertain that person.. see i.. PURPOSELY ENTERTAIN n was AT NO TIME CONNED into it. But anyway.. it turned out to be an idiot who called.. n proclaimed himself the Creative Director of SPH.. Leong Shih Qiang.. faintzz~~.. even the faintest hope of the windfall was gone..haha he went to america to study for 2 yrs +.. n his accent is totally that of those americans.. but his chinese is so much better now.. weird ah.. go US to learn chinese..haha anyway it was kick ass having him back la..

I became Robinho in soccer with him around..haha thank you very much =)..
Soccer was fun.. till i kena bang by the minghui.. omg.. the last person i will want to be banged.. n den i san dao yao.. n it just got worse along the day.. nvm

Me n that stupid SPH CD den went to IKEA for something dumb..
I was so totally convinced that the world champion's record of 67 hotdogs in 12 min refers to the dog itself.. u noe.. the long long thing just that. so i told SQ i wanted to try.. n he actually went down ikea to buy 6 hotdogs.. 1 for him.. n all 6 got bread!! KNS.. n the challenge was.. unless i can eat 5 hotdogs in 1 min.. i gotta pay for all.. haha super KNS la.. how issit possible..
So I ate one big mouth, covering half a hotdog.. n i realise immediately that its not possible.. so i ate slowly..n enjoyed it.. hahaha.. its quite nice la.. but i tink i easily took 3 min for one hotdog.. there goes my dream of challenging the world champion for 60 hotdogs in 12 min. i will only finised 4 hotdogs in 12 min..
den sq said he can finish 3 in 1 min.. so i gave him 1.5 min.. n he started soaking the bread in pepsi before eating.. i tink everyone ard must have tink we r crazy la..haha but it was damn funny seeing him eat the pepsi bread.. n damn disgusting too..hahaha after a while he gave up too.. but i loved the focused look on his face initially..hahahah
eventually we finished all the dogs n the bread.. except for one bread which we threw awway... so dumb~ we just wasted so much money on so many hotdogs for 2 of us.

den den.. we went Newton Foodcourt to meet up with the 21 bros.. n somehow now got some sisters..haha all of them r getting attached.. faintz.. n ate alot of food there.. but LJR ordered all the spicy food!!.. got LaLa..ChuChu..Mussels.. StingRay.. Kang Kong.. Hao Jian..Sweet n Sour Pork.. too much la.. but lotsa fun there.. with Chew tokking lotsa kok as usual..even saw owsy there.. a pleasant surprise.. flying all the way back from aust.. organise ur satay man gathering soon leh! haha

after that went for a mini bbq.. i tink i entertained them =) n sometimes i do tink im borne to be an entertainer.. n seriously.. i shld just be a clown.. working in Newton Circus.. I wonder why I am not..

N my dear jc friends.. u all can come if u all want.. for xmas.. haha but if anyone wanna offer their house i'll be happy to go there too~.. can see new houses.. keegan or yimei n meiz ah.. i haven been to any of ur house leh.. if u all wanna come we'll make it rocks..hahaha let's all invest n buy a WII machine.. i can offer the space to put.. den we can play during xmas..hahaha.. but like real la hor~..haha

Felt totally stunned this morning.. n I meant 3-4am that kind of morning
I woke up.. tinking that its a Friday morning, and silently congratulate myself that its just one more day of work to weekend.
N only to start thinking after that whether it is already a Saturday, or a Friday.

I understood why I had this uncertainty already. N that is because I came back home rite after work yesterday! So because of this lack of play after the last day of work, I am feeling mentally disturbed.

N the Samsung guy is causing me to feel even more mentally disturbed. Because of him, I had to postpone my tuition from this morning to tmr afternoon. I had to spend money taking cab down w QF to FICO sports hub later. I had to stupidly waste my morning away. I had to sacrifice my mei's muffin. N all because of a Samsung Technician.

Kind of.. looking forward to next week. 5 more weeks to go. Finished a few shows already. anymore show? anymore show?

wat a day!

i rily got the mc i've been praying for for the past few days! haha.. i started sneezing ard noon time and was asked by one of the perm staff to see the dbs doctor.. n he kindly gave me a half day mc to go back n rest.. so it was lunch with chee b4 i head home

n to tink of it.. i was just kidding with my mei ytd to pass me her flu..den i get it today le!.. mm.. thank you? and we even share deserts at 'ji de chi' (remember to eat!)..haha anyway so funny.. we were saying.. how did we walk to chinatown from shenton way? haha.. although i rily keep sneezing after i see the doctor (more often den b4 i see him), but it provided me with a much needed break to sleep at home and go out with my mum

den we went to this audio house n bought a tv.. so happy over it.. coz now i can watch tv in my room and hibernate there.. maybe lock myself up.. and ask my mum to leave food outside the room everyday..haha like some zi bi de hai zi

Wat a way to start off the weekend!

Went down for soccer with jr and co. at Fajar but as qf rightly predicted, it started raining soon after we reach the place. N the rain this time is the not small small drizzle, but the big rain with sounds of thunder. N since we were already there, we went ahead to play in the rain, and the water-logged-court. Although it was cooling playing in the rain, but I kinda felt a headache with the raindrops hitting my head non-stop. By the time we stopped, the rain had already ceased.. how ironic.

Then it was off for a drink w qf before my most hated thing occur yet again.

I went home planning to change for my tuition which I was supposed to go in abt an hour's time, but no one was at home, and I din bring key coz I din noe they will be going out. And my bro did not pick up my call despite me making >10 calls to him.. argh.. in the end luckily my sis was at home so I went to her place and took my bro-in-law's clothes to change. The 2-hr tuition felt pretty long, and I was dying to go back home to sleep..

So now I'm back home, with an injured ankle.. going to sleep le! =)~ Can't be happier :)

Finally another week of PA is over.

The last day of the week ended nice, with lunch with my NTU-mentor in Raffles place, which was followed by coffee at Spalleti, and then a slow walk back to Raffles MRT. After which I was unsure if I can figure out the way back to my DBS office in time cause I took nearly 1 hr 50 min for lunch le, so I took train back and rushed back, only to find only 2 or 3 people there.. as usual =P

Then it was dinner with koksters at Raffles Place again. It put an end to a long long working week, in which I had nothing to do, and did more PR talking and getting to know the people there, with only a cumulative of less den 5 hrs spent on learning I suppose. But there is this Dai Lim who is very nice, and she put in half an hour or so to teach me about their trade products everyday. I admit the stuffs there are not easy to understand, and made me realise how important every decision they make are, because they have to be liable and responsible for every deal they close, their pipeline they make, and every risk of the deal causing the company to suffer losses. And of course there is this guy Ming Chiang, who is really like my easiest-to-talk-to senior cum colleague there, who brings me out for coffee very often, and we can talk about everything from work, to school, to soccer, and to our ambitious.

There are many more there whom I am not that close to yet, but who nevertheless have been very helpful in helping me to settle down there. The only problem remaining, which is the original problem, is the lack of work, lack of utilisation for me, in my opinion. Please.. give me more work to do, any type of work, I need to work, I cannot stand having nothing to do!

Meanwhile, there are some things which have been troubling me. Not exactly troubling, but just.. making me abit disturbed. A combination of me and abit of other people. I hope one day, I can be completely free from all troubles, and be the person everyone wants me to be. Thanks for listening to me, and hearing me out *oinkz* =)

But I want to remember this day. 3/6/08

I met up with my 2nd 'family'. Had my 2 buddies in.. mel and kee.. had meiz n mt.. n my *oinkz* meiz who fell tired.. at the wrong time.. haha
mm.. so we went out suddenly on a wkday evening.. and out till 1+am..
sometimes.. the best pple to be with.. is the pple u've been with for the longest time.

i am a genuine believer that time build up friendships.. and the trust within us..
so im just so happy that after so many yrs.. we r still so happy and close within each other. =)

Haven been posting here for quite some time.. so just wanna show that I am still around.. I am still alive!!!

Had fun with koksters in Genting right after exams.. and the subsequent meetup with Ms love-to-tok.com

Had a nice dinner today with a good friend.. it feels so comfortable after a few days being around with new people, and new colleagues. Maybe that's one of the perks of working in the city area, its more convenient whenever you want to meet up with good friends there because most of them are from my course, and most of them are just working somewhere near to you.

Learning to appreciate life, and the little little things life have to offer you, making sure you are never alone, making sure you are always growing to be a better man, intellectually and mentally =)

It is raining at the best possible moment now..
What with all the red backs, burnt shoulders, peeling skin and noses.. hopefully this rain can bring down our body temperature to like.. 10..11..degrees? haha and all of us will not peel!

Looking at my table now.. I feel much more relaxed.. like there's not much more to do.. compared to a week ago.. only left with Hourglass and Marketing to do, and exams to come.. everything seems planned and prepared for already.. including this Sunday's exam initiation studies..

Feeling very comfortable now.. being in hall with my good buddy.. even though he is currently sleeping.. while waiting for his supper i think? A supper that we don noe is coming or not.. =)

So many things coming up.. and I'm learning to manage things, people, myself better and better. Its been slow coming, but to know your ownself is really important..

decided to write this whole entry in small capitals.. because i'm writing for myself.. so as long as i like it.. i'll do it this way =)

i wonder whether i'm too stressed nowadays.. or just using projects as an excuse to immense myself in tiredness.. as usual.. as what i always do.. and i really wonder why
it seems to me that i like to be quiet.. like really quiet.. and i really don like to talk.. but i don like to appear too quiet in front of pple.. so i immense myself in work.. so that i can appear to be quiet cause i'm busy.. but really.. its just that i don like to talk to people..

and i noe i cannot work with noises.. its just me ba.. lack of concentration.. like.. i cannot multitask really.. or i'll do both things lousily.. even tried carrom and scrabble together last time.. and it turned out to be disastrous..

hahaha.. by just skipping lessons.. having good food.. doing work and earning money.. seeing close friend i haven seen for some time.. and I'm like so happy already...

talking kok to fren the moment i reach back hall.. and I feel so awake today.. must be a result of the good sleep I had last nite.. I simply love sleeping with the morning rain..
oh yar.. I think part of the reason was also because I've read a few notes? haha can't live a day without touching them

went to wash 1.5-2 wks worth of clothes just now.. and someone commented the detergent looks like some kind of expired ***..hahaha.. damn funny la~.. okie it's just greenish in colour!~

mm.. gonna be a long nite today.. hope I can just stop sleeping..

and i really don like people who rush to enter mrt, rush to get into lifts, rush to do things at other people's expense.. like.. at least shout out that 'I am in a rush, so can you all kindly freaking get out of my way?'.. at least better than don ask ma..

finally.. the horrible wk is coming to an end..
its been really horrible.. wat with risk ppt, mkting ppt, coy law assignment, tax quiz..
causing me to be rily 'fan' at some days.. so so sorri to those who i've caused to be worried for me.. i'm really okie now le.. n back to normal
just 2 more meetings later.. one with my mkting grp n one with my fav sgx grp..

was walking home from tuition just now..den tinking.. actually a 20 page writeout is normal for us.. in fact it gives us so much space to apply wat we have learnt and wat we really wants to say.. so even if we don get in, at least we have give our all.. and wat if we really get in? cannot imagine... us going sgx to present with only 5 other teams.. it will be such a nice memory..

=) last nite's cultural nite was really good.. my hall's pple are.. really talented.. hahaha n so nice to see all my mj khakis and some of my dear juniors ard.. haven been able to keep in touch with them for some time until last nite

Before I start on my horrific week.. I shall blog for one last time to mark the end of recess week

Being a really wonderful week this time round, better than any of the previous 3 I've had.. probably due to the same reasons..

Met up with the 'people' again many many times this week.. like even in recess week we still can't run away from one another.. and seen most of them around 4/5 times this week!

Also met up with xwp abeit for awhile.. and spending money to scare ourselves..haha it was nice meeting up.. guess the next time we'll meet up will probably be after ur IA or when school starts.. rmm wat i told u OkIE?! hahaa

Also met up with 2 of my project groups..no its 3!.. mkting.. risk.. n bf..
really happy to see my buddy coz u just rocks la.. I feel so unreserved tokking to u.. like as though u r a voice recorder and i can just say anything without anyone thinking abt my character or any form of judgements being passed down on me.. this kind of feeling is rily gd!

But couldn't meet up with my JC jurong-bukit panjang!!! clique.. really sorri coz I had to go for impressario on sat evening so couldn't meet up with u all for either timing.. sorri again!

And goodbye weibin! We really meet up once a year.. so i'll be waiting for u to return and swim again next year.. and yess this time we'll have our 'swimming competition'..=)
